Just Getting Feet Wet

I'm still having trouble with whom I can sell it too. For instance, if I want to get a hold of nutrition products such as vitamin d...how on earth would I find companies in other countries with demand?

***OK... extremely important questions:

1. Why do you want to sell Vitamin D?

2.  Why will Vitamin D suppliers want to sell to you?

3. Why will Vitamin D buyers want to buy from you?

Target is to sell you countries above the equator. Vitamin d promotes weight loss, diabetes is related to low vitamin d levels. With out vitamin d, calcium cant be absorbed, etc. I can go all day why vitamin d, simply because it promotes good health. But to answers 2 and 3...its hard to start off new and find someone to trust you.

One of the points of the book is to trade in that for which you have a passion (to suffer).    Solve a problem, and then the test is if you find joy in working on the problem (doing the business.)

Vitamin D is good.  Shoes are good.  Anyone can go on all day about any good thing.  But those with passion will beat you at their game.  You must figure out what causes you to suffer, not settle on "vitamin D is a good thing."

I've written quite a bit on this... read it here, and tell me what you think...

As to question 2 and 3 it is easy to start off new and have someone trust you in what you do best... if you have found your passion and joy...

Let me know what you think about what you read...

Sorry for the long (delay), but I did read a couple articles and I am inspired by your work. I am passionate about making a connection. I want to be able to be succesful in owning my own import export business, but as of right now I just want to get my feet wet. I was thinking just putting myself (selling) out there to find sales in foreign countries. How does that sound?

Well, the "feet wet" may be indeed prudent, I am a big believer in testing, then proceeding.  Hypothesis, test, information, rinse and repeat.  And there is no reason you should not get your feet wet doing what you will do the rest of your life.

If by getting your feet wet by selling one thing and then take those lessons to another, then you are wasting your time.  If getting your feet wet is in your best area, then sure, by all means, easy does it, go at your own pace.

I think there is an idea that import/export is automatic easy riches, as some people still think the internet is... that it does not matter what you trade.  It most certainly does.  You have to arrive at what it is that YOU should be trading, which is unique to you.

As you start up, necessarily you’ll be getting only your feet wet, because you’ll be discovering markets for what you offer, markets otherise not known.

So to do this right you will find it works at exactly your own pace.

Feel free to forward this by email to three of your friends.
