Question

Re: [spiers] Question

Hi John and Group,

Several of our good customers require their vendors to have liability insurance.
We use Zurich through our agent in WA (I believe agent is American Underwriters,
I am away from the office at the moment). We pay about $350/year for $1mm in
product liabilty insurance with them.

Good luck,
Paul

Manufacturing Agreement

Re: [spiers] Manufacturing Agreement

I am writing to inquire about an eletronic copy or link to a generic
manufacturing agreement that I may modify. I previously introduced myself as a
developing new business in San Francisco importing softgood products from
Southeast
Asia. These products will be manufacturered for me using my designs and
specifications. I am planning to use the Agreement as a guideline rather than a
legal device considering the location of my manufacturer.

Yes, as a legal device it may even backfire, alienating the potential
supplier with your hard intent. Since every deal is unique, it may be better to
simply memorialize every step and discussion, and then send your notes as a
letter
to your partner with the tag line "if this does not meet with your
understanding, please let me know." Silence usually means agreement so if all
you say
goes unremarked then it is pretty strong basis as the rules of the game, in
this game.

Now, we who are raised in USA expect far more formal and rigid instruments,
but the resat of the world tends to be more flexible in matters creative and
initial like ours.

So personally i've never used a template, just keep good notes and write them
up. Who, what where when why, and date it.

sheets and then try to buy them at the stores... after that, we can talk about
finding a source...***

Is there such a thing as company's like Ralph Lauren,
buying your product and selling it under their brand
name?

**That is how ralph lauren does it.***

Selling

I want to sell bed sheets and bed wear with specific
designs on them. The print on them will be what will
be unique about them. How do I find a manufacturer? Do
I need a designer or the manufacturer will have this
capability?
Any advise on how to market them, like conventions
where walmart, hecths and other buyers will go? Etc...
Are there are any conventions or via through which
these department stores look for specific Holiday
theme items to have at their stores?

Is there such a thing as company's like Ralph Lauren,
buying your product and selling it under their brand
name?
