Another Kenfair Report

KenFair
Hi, I went to the KenFair today and found it quite interesting. Lots and
lots of items. There were a couple of things I might be interested in getting.
Can you give me any suggestions on how I can find out what charges I will be
up for if I do purchase something, expenses such as shipping, customs charges,
any taxes? Thanks, Sandie

Yes! This is a big reason China is gaining so much market share in USA...
trade shows such as this can be inspiring and broaden the mind... just think
of the resources available for YOUR idea!

KENFAIR
***********************************************
I've been to many trade fairs in my life, but Kenfair is by far
the
best one. The bag of goodies they hand you at the entrance included
among the usual items, a note pad and a pen so you could take notes
and staple business cards. Once inside and next to the help desk,
there was a business center that offered Internet link, Computer
service, Fax service, Xerox service, FREE International phone calls to
Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, etc. At the far end from the entrance,
there was a food court with dining tables that offered FREE finger
foods, bakery items and beverages.

OPINION
***********************************************
Though the number of exhibitors was small, but each one of the
participants was well prepared to conduct business. Most of the
exhibitors were manufacturers or their authorized suppliers. Everyone
conversed in English. There was no shortage of business cards or
brochures. The booths had standardized signage. And, vendors kept
their space clutter free.
The thing that impressed me the most was that all the exhibitors,
large or small, were willing to work with their buyers. They were
ready to help design, develop prototype, and manufacture any product
that you could conceive within their manufacturing capabilities.
Their Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for custom ordered goods was so low
that I felt that I could "Compete on Design" every single
time and not
invest too much capital doing so. These manufacturers empower their
buyers to design products.
I wish more people from Mr. John Spiers' class could visit Kenfair
next year. I believe that Kenfair is an ideal laboratory that can
supplement Mr. Spier's class.
Sincerely,
Ismail Zehri
