Police and Teachers

An aspect of the cop's widely reported tirade against the skateboarder that I think went unnoticed was how the cop inquired if the kid treated teachers that way, too. It has long seemed to me both teachers and police are in very similar circumstances. Both are given superhuman status in lieu of compensation, both are obliged to work with woefully inadequate resources, both are obliged to subscribe to theories that make no sense, on pain of dismissal, both have their hands tied when discernment and creativity might be called for in the execution of their professional duties. Both are finding the quality of new recruits dropping fast.

The video showing the corrections officer dumping the paraplegic ends with cameo of another officer walking away and chuckling. My sense he was shaking his head in regret, and something he thinks is wrong, but not that he is going to do anything about. He retires in five years, why bother raising a beef? There is the bigger problem, nobody reported anything. We know about Abu Ghraib because the USA does have honest soldiers, who will not tolerate dishonor.

Like teachers, police are accorded superhuman status, when they are quite human. An impression is manufactured that they can solve all problems, make everything good. If this were true, both would be woefully undercompensated for what we are told they contribute. But since in fact they are neither able no permitted to perform as described, they are overpaid for actual results.

In both cases we could get better results for less money, if they operated in a free market. In such an alternative world, both cops and teachers would make more money while performing far more productively. It is a problem of government intervention in the markets.

Freedom

If I am right about Hillary being the next president, and what we are watching, then in one sense it is a good thing. By making the Clintons sweat a bit, Hillary will beholden to others who if for no other reason but self-interest may serve to restrain her. As people withold their support, she has to buy each off with promises, I'd say structural promises where people are given positions and actual goods and services, from she who can cough up $5 million to lend herself.

Switching from a Hispanic to Black campaign director would reflect who she is paying off currently, and explain the chagrin from Hispanic supporters.

She is in no real danger of losing, just being squeezed for more from the powers that be.

We can add to the mix what utter pointlessness it is to be an elected official. Senators and congressmen all fill their time with investigations into whether a baseball player took a dietary supplement once upon a time. Never mind the issue of treason in selling USA nuke secrets to our enemies, something the left has known about since 2004, but now that the dems are in congress job #2 is get to the bottom of what a few baseball players might have consumed.

Job # 1 for the democrats, of course, was to pass a law that makes criticizing congress to onerous to attempt. Read section 220. And people think it would be chaos without government. It is chaos now.

Hillary Will Be The Next President

The powers that be, the ones who brought us the Iraq War, Global Warming scare, poverty, injustice, etc, can and will work with Hillary. She will be the next president. What we are seeing now is the process of fooling people into "buying into" the process, so they can be scammed come what may.

Also, by making Hillary and Bill work for the nomination, various parties are getting IOU's from the Clintons which surely will be repaid. A popular victory for Obama would mean no IOU's to be paid, so he will not be elected.

Hillary is reliable because her 'feminism" is not about equal rights. While most women think "equal pay for equal work" and "give me a break when I have a baby" and the world will be a better place with women involved in the process, Hillary's equality is of a different kind. Her equality is "If I cannot do anything and everything a man can do, then my life effort is pointless."

If Hillary cannot wage an illegal war like Bush (invade Iran), if she cannot illegally spy on Americans like a Bush, torture, steal... anything and everything wicked ever in history, then she is not really equal to a man, is she?

Hillary will be president and we will attack Iran. Then she can prove men and women are equal.

Testing For Paraplegia: Dump 'em

The other problem is the politicians are now allowing people who have no business in corrections to get jobs. Here again, this would be secret if it were not for videotape. When everyone sees these videos, fewer of the right people want to be cops, and more of the wrong people can't wait to sign up. This makes problems for good cops.

Officer Vs. Skate Boarder

The officer gets suspended, at the end the scene is cut off while the officer is threatening the videocammer... it seems to me the best defense against out-of-control cops is a camera... I think all this is a result of cops getting scammed by politicians... the cause for distress on the officers part is disrespect; the officer makes the mistake of demanding respect from a 14 year old, when discretion would have been smarter... but instead of pay, cops get bennies and and illusion of community respect and support. The bennies are being paid into ever-emptying pension plans, and the respect is contrived. If I was running the cops union, I'd be getting a better deal for the cops. In the meantime, discreet videcamming equip might be a big seller... think of a remote control ring on your finger so you can have the cell phone on your belt record your interaction with your hands in the air.

We Just Played Patsy Cline Albums

Apparently the Brits are using sonic nuisance at dangerous levels to chase kids away from favorite loitering sites... at a retail store I was consulting with long ago I advised Patsy Cline piped outside the store. It worked perfectly well with no adverse effects. When people offer a prduct that harms, there is usually a perfectly safe alternative.

Microsoft Needs Taxpayers Subsidies

Microsoft, Yahoo, etc drawn to Washington State by subsidized electricity, now want sales tax breaks to stay or expand. Of course, if they do not pay, the poor and middle class will. Plus, it is always a delight to see these big biz invest in any push for tax increases on others, when they themselves are exempt.

Of course, the billionaires are playing Washington off of Iowa and other states, so eventually the states will give in. The taxpayers always lose. A few years back Boeing announced they were relocating their HQ to Chicago from Seattle. The city, county and state were astonished. "No one from Boeing ever spoke to us!" Of course not... Boeing had already extracted every possible cent in concessions from every level of government, and the govt had nothing else to offer. bowing knew this better than anyone in govt. Chicago had some taxpayers left to squeeze to benefit Boeing, so Boeing left. When ending welfare, start with the corporations.

More Fraud, More Opporunity

California Sec of State has updated the aforementioned website, with new results, but still in the range of impossible. In Washington State, Huckabee is challenging the results. I've watched some very petty cooperation from Republicans to assist Democrats in scamming the voters in the past, and those involved have all been rewarded by the 'winning" democrats.

The dems own the elections in Washington State.Paul won over 20%, the best anywhere yet I believe, but here in Washington, no Republican is going to win anything anyway, so there is no need to extend fraud as far as fixing Republican races too. Therefore, we may have seen in Washington what Paul's support level truly is in other states.

Another note: Hillary Clinton, who touts 35 years experience in public service and "leadership" has loaned her campaign $5 million. My first thought was, "when and how did she earn $5 mill to lend herself?" She did get an $8 million dollar advance for her book, which is now out of print, and to my mind a clear example of money laundering. Or am I just envious?

Some day, USA citizens will want clean elections...
