Trade Show Booths

When referencing trade shows in you book, is it your suggestion that we,
as independent importers, purchase space/booth and exhibit our own
product?

Or do the Independent Sales Reps exhibit portions of their lines of
product at the trade shows?

***The problem with start-up company maintaining a trade show booth is four- fold:

1. Trade show space is allocated by seniority, you pay top dollar, but get terrible location at the show.

2. Bad customers know who we are but we do not know who they are - no defense against bad customers ripping us off.

3. it is extremely unlikely we will amortize the cost of the booth against the sales generated. With a booth, we have sunk costs, as opposed to fixed persent costs with the reps. Further, the reps keep going, after shows, with store visits, and greet customers in the rep's permanent showrooms.

4. Professionalism... reps know what they are doing, and provide a professional front to you business to the customers in general. they communicate back to you what really matters to the customers. they know how to speak, they know how to listen in the language of your industry.

Best to start with reps, after you have enough customers you developed as I lay out in the book, HOW SMALL BUSINESS TRADES WORLDWIDE.

Importing And Exporting Cars or Automobiles or Motor Vehicles

Here are teh rules on importing a car automobile into the USA. And here is the info on exporting cars from USA.

Online Education Example

Here a fellow has started a small business teaching online. It is quite remarkable and the classes are well done. His method for making money is to take donations, so he must be working here as some sort of nonprofit. There may be no jobs out there, but there is plenty of work to do.

Well, Actually There Is A Reason to Murder Michael Jackson

You may have stopped paying any attention to the Michael jackson events now the conspiracy crew has taken over the story. There is in fact some basis for claiming Muchael Jackson was murdered. It is clear who LaToya Jackson is talking about when she says she knows who murdered Michael, it is Tommy Mottola, with whom Jackson has been feuding for years.

With a few friends in the music industry on the business side, its an industry that I find useful for reflection, looking for patterns. how do things work? When looking for a solution in one field, I like to see analogies in another.

The beef in question here is Michael Jackson personally owns most of the Beatles songs, so he gets the royalties. This has led to conflicts, even between Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney.

As a side note it is funny that one of the richest people in the history of music complained he was not earning enough money. McCartney, one of the most famous people in the history oif music, got in a fight with Yoko ono over not getting top billing for the song Yesterday, which bills Lennon higher although Lennon never worked on the song. Paul McCartney, insecure about fame and money. Go figure.

Anyway, when Michael Jackson got the catalog in the 1980's he cut a deal with Nike to use Revolution in a Nike Ad. The surviving Beatles sued to stop it. That was the last time you heard Beatles Music in an ad.

Not using the music in ads, the songs are worth hundreds of millions. Using them in ads, the songs are worth billions.

So here is the scuttlebutt: The entire "Michael Jackson child molester" false charges was an attempt by Mottolla and a friendly corrupt prosecutor to financially bust Michael Jackson so he would have to sell the Beatles music for millions. Tommy Mottolla is no nice guy as CEO of Sony Music. Whereas Michael Jackson may go along with the sensitivities of the Beatles, Mottolla would bury the Beatles in lawsuits and turn what the Beatles songs he would buy for millions, from a financially busted Jackson, into billions.

An even wealthier Michael Jackson. way more rich from a comeback, would never give up the Beatles music. So he was whacked. That is the theory.
