China Builds 15 Story Hotel In Six Days

Such a project is management intensive...  I bet these are some of the best paid labor in China...  when we go overseas, we exploit superior management, not cheap labor.  Cheap labor is never a factor in international trade.

The Pilots Have Abandoned Us!

They left us behind, they cut a side deal.  Divide and conquer.. the feds exempted the pilots, so they no longer care.  Their passengers will continue to endure what the pilots escaped.

One group selling another down the river is nothing new.  Just sorry to see the pilots do it to the rest of us.  Indecent.

Fewer Business Start-Ups

Wall Street Journal is reporting what was already known to all:  new business start-ups are down.  Well, indeed.  Plans to give everyone welfare or govt union jobs will at some point go very bad, worse than now.

Research shows that new businesses are the most important source of jobs and a key driver of the innovation and productivity gains that raise long-term living standards. Without them there would be no net job growth at all, say economists John Haltiwanger of the University of Maryland and Ron Jarmin and Javier Miranda of the Census Bureau.
"Historically, it's the young, small businesses that take off that add lots of jobs," says Mr. Haltiwanger. "That process isn't working very well now."

Too many people have govt jobs to care.  Problem is, when it goes bad, the fruit of their jobs, crushing through regulation the innovation creating new businesses, they will find no work for themselves when the feds default on the SS, one way or another.

I am not worried about taxes, because we can just outsource overseas to beat those.  It is the regulations that are the killer.  Pointless, like a TSA search.

Decency And Principles

Principles keep one on the straight and narrow, and are best adhered to in a crisis.  Most of us are willing to bend principles in a crisis.  It is at that point the indecent will strike, and use the crisis to advance indecency.

If we were a Christian nation, we would have expressed forgiveness after the 9-11 attack, and then sought out why we were attacked.  (It was no secret.)  Those who asked why were told "because they hate our freedom.."  It's takes very few people to take over a democracy, and a very few hijacked ours.  These Hamiltonians hate Moslem freedom, Moslem self-determination.  9-11 happened due to our unprincipled occupation of their countries.

As we were reeling from the 9-11 attacks on USA by Saudi terrorists, the unprincipled bombed Afghanistan and invaded Iraq.  Colin Powell, a notorious liar who made his name trying to cover up the My Lai massacre, hiding the fact that USA left POWs behind in Vietnam (in spite of the fact two came back in the 1980s) and then lied about weapons of mass destruction, just to name three career highlights.  Massacre, abandoning our POWs, and false pretense for war are egregious indecencies.  Coiln Powell was involved in all three.

One principle is our rights are inalienable.  We cannot give them up, they cannot be taken away.  Jefferson noted this in the declaration of independence.  The constitution specifically prohibits search or seizure without probable cause.  A desire to fly on an airplane is not probable cause.  We may not allow ourselves to be porn-o-scanned or pat-searched.  (Criminals exhibiting probable cause is another matter.) No one may insist on porn-o-scanning us or pat-searching us.  Either way it is wrong.

Never mind the "underwear bomber" has the look of a classic false flag ruse.  Does anyone recall Kurt Haskell, the attorney on that flight, who observed the bomber being escorted on the flight, by officials?

When a Michigan passenger, attorney Kurt Haskell, reported that a “well-dressed” Indian man arranged for Umar Mutallab to perform a “walkaround” without a passport in Amsterdam, ICTS was one of only a few entities that could have permitted this security breach to take place.

Kurt Haskell offered credible evidence, yet for some reason there is no investigation.  If an attorney gives evidence a terrorist was waltzed through security and set off a bomb on an airline, you'd think that would be investigated thoroughly.  So what is new with Kurt and family?  He has been targeted for death by a motorcycle gang, ostensibly over a family law issue.  What is little known outside law enforcement is motorcycle gangs in USA are right wing paramilitary groups.  If Kurt is killed, it will be written off as coincidence.

If a private company requires as a condition for getting on a flight, a strip search, then that is their business, and competition will find a better way.  By arrogating "security" unto themselves, and under the pretext of a crisis, the indecent have bent principles so they can humiliate and oppress travelers.

The time to end this is now.

Accessorize the Transit

I've blogged on the Ford Transit, a hit, and it seems everyone of them is custom liveried...

Nobody paints these images on any more, they are printed on sticky plastic and then applied. So here is a new business idea: Get the exact dimensions of the 2 or 3 versions, and then set up a website where a business can submit logos and whatever else they want to advertise, and have the designs laid out and aproved.  Then print them in Hong Kong (I think that is the best place) and fedex the sheets back to usa to trick out your Ford Transit.

Do You See A Pattern?

The TSA top staff:

You know who... see something unusual?  Gentlemen keeps their hands at their sides, if you did not know.

At USA airports.....

And you know when...

Do a little research, and you'll find in Germany circa 1934 - 36,  the exact same arguments were made for why this is necessary.

The time to say no is when you still can.

First Munger, Now Buffett

Warren Buffett has written a letter in the NYTimes thanking uncle sam for the bailout which preserved some of Buffet's billions in the crisis of 08 in which Buffett had exposure.  Buffet should be thanking taxpayers, their children and grandchildren, because Uncle Sam has no money, it has to come from taxpayers, and their hapless descendants.

You cannot believe in Free Markets and applaud Warren Buffett.  Buffett's father was a congressman, and conservative, lamenting government intrusion in people's lives.  An issue alive at that time was pension plans, forced savings, insurance as a finance vehicle, and tax policies that caused people to invest unwisely in the stock market.  Being an insider to all that, it was a simple conclusion: buy basic stocks and hold, the markets will grow unreasonably over the years, people are forced to invest, you cannot lose.

Many people had that insight, but Buffett enjoys survivorship bias, that is he has survived best among all those that knew what he knew.  We think he is smart because he survived.  Just luck of the draw.

His partner Munger earned millions form the bailout, as did Buffett.  Survivorship bias makes the survivors believers in the system, and in themselves, because, well, they did all right. It is easy to ignore those whose rolled craps in the game, and even easier to ignore what we do not have because of the game: freedom, cures, options etc....  but easier just to say "I am smarter..."  and "You need to buck up..."  when people question your success.

The economy was never in trouble in 08.  Welfare queens like Buffett were in trouble.  David Stockman explains what happened.    You cannot love free markets and admire Warren Buffett.

Pou Chen Kickin' It

I mention Pou Chen in my book, the world's leading supplier of athletic footwear... they're still growing strong, with sales up...  I suspect it's their sales in emerging markets, but research will tell... they make nikes, addidas, norsport, reebok, etc...  nike could care less where things are made, they just hire Pou Chen to make 'em...  division of labor, it's where the wealth is.

Luxury Design Still Sells

This article does not surprise me, because it says upscale design sells well in a down economy... we knew that.  But when I hear they like selling online, I wonder.  Are they making money at it?  Well, they are certainly innovating.

You're Next, Maxine!

What can be more hilarious than the House of Representatives finding Charles Rangel guilty of ethics violations?    As if he is unique in this.  The entire congress, top to bottom, morning to night is a criminal enterprise.  What did him in?  His pushing for a military draft, which would have renewed the anti-war movement in USA?  (The all-volunteer army is heavily weighted to "volunteer" poor and minority.)

Maxine Waters is next to be tried.  Who did she tick off?  Or was she just in line, due to seniority, for some powerful position.  A hunch:  hispanics take their places.  The powers that be are dividing to conquer.

All Hail Communist Party Leadership!

Because they out-hustle us at our own games.  The Chinese have announced 100 orders for their new and competitive passenger jet airliner, and who is high on the list of buyers, USA's own bailed out GE.  Your tax dollars at work.

Note also China got the orders against samples, actually the mock up of a front end.... they have not actually made anything yet.  Do you think the communist party has read my book?

The word fascism comes from the latin fasces, which is a bundle of sticks with a hatchet in the center.  This was the symbol of ancient Rome, meaning all the individuals could be broken, but not the bundle.  The hatchet was violence at the heart of it all.

Today the USA is a fascist country.  Communism has an advantage over fascism, because fascism burns out quicker.  Both centrally command the economy.  Both see people as owned by the government. Webster defines it thus.

a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralizedautocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

Fascism has been latent in the USA all along, because of the Hamiltonians.  They got their symbols, THE symbols of fascism, in the House of Representatives and for a while on the dime.

I do not care for either communism or fascism, I prefer free markets which obviate the ability for either to exist.  But if you want a cold blooded assessment of which system wins a competition, pick communism.

Why We Do Not Need The US Legal System

There are plenty of legal systems we can adopt, but the US Legal system we have now simply is not working.  It failed to address the mortgage fraud in spite of being warned by the FBI in 2004 and read this from a recent ruling:

The ruling, from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, says that "requiring that a potential passenger be allowed to revoke consent to an ongoing airport security search makes little sense in a post-9/11 world. Such a rule would afford terrorists multiple opportunities to attempt to penetrate airport security by 'electing not to fly' on the cusp of detection until a vulnerable portal is found."

Never mind that terrorists can do this without entering the lines, and never mind that the courts are supposed to defend our constitutional rights, just the idiocy of weighing in on airline security, something in which they have zero competence in, is warrant enough to scrap the legal system and start over.

If one is surprised in an airport line with an illegal search and seizure, then one should be free to withdraw at least, not to mention it should be up to the airline to decide who gets on their planes.

Although it was once against the law in USA to use alternative dispute resolution services, now at least we can do that.  Let's go all the way.  Let's come up with a new legal system.

Car Rental

I think there are websites devoted to getting good prices on car rentals, but for my part I always book the tiniest, cheapest car possible.  Inevitably, they are out of such cars.  But before they tell me, they ask if I want to upgrade one or two levels for a mere $9.95 or whatever...  I say no.  And then they tell me they don't have what I ordered, and I'll be upgraded anyway.  So that's how come I got this strassenkreuzer for $85 total, for three days, all in.

Don't Leave Us Behind!

That is what I said to a pilot in line with me at the airport, when he was bristling at the Peep-o-Tron invasion of privacy and health hazard.  In San Francisco he was able to simply switch lines, not so easy in other places.  He said pilots were working against the system (for themselves) and I begged him not to leave the rest of us behind.

Of course, 9-11 was compliments of FAA security rules:  if anyone announced "hijack" turn the airplane over to hijackers.  The next hijacking, if it ever comes, will be about working with the rules, again, to accomplish the atrocity.  If we want true security, it has to be provided by the airlines, not the government.

Next, why take down an airplane, when taking out a shopping mall is easier, faster and safer for a terrorist, and would shut down retail in usa, a much bigger paart of the economy, as others have pointed oout.  We are guarding the wrong gates.

Drudge: When Churches Take Government Money

But these scanners are sold by the last sec of homeland security, and if they are banned, the present one will  not become  billionaire selling taxpayers the next pointless, worthless invasion of privacy.

I've noted religion, labor, academia, law, medicine, they have all been bought off.  So there is no group that can resist, all will fall into the abyss.

Get Big or Get Out

It was Earl Butz who let the cat out of the bag when he said the policy of the US Govt is get big or get out... her was referring to farms, and the assault on small farms is in what the Marines call the mop-up phase....  read the article on farms today and watch the little video as well on why people do not start businesses...
