When wars get really nasty, enemies bomb dams and other great public works to make huge problems.  Given what has happened at Fukushima, and given how easily the 9-11 WTC attacks brought down those buildings, why would a USA enemy attack our huge nuclear power plants?  Fox News says "don't worry, we spent a few billion on barriers."  That makes me worry.  We are safe from airplanes crashing into them, people think.

But what about war?  If a big wave can destroy Fukushima, what about an big enemy bomb?  Would it not be better to decentralize nuke power?  Sure enough, we seem to be able to make small, very much safer nuke plants.

The money for big nukes and GE starves out innovation by small companies. USA government policy has been "get big or get out" for 150 years.  We need to change that. No more subsidies for General Electric, General Foods and General Motors.  We need to get to free markets, and "get big as you can on your own."
