It Is We Who Are The Problem

The problem is we clamor to be oppressed...
Mish Shedlock quotes a Greek Student:
"I believe we should go bankrupt and get it over with. These measures are slowly killing us," said 22-year-old student Efi Koloverou. "We want competent people to take over."
I quote the Bible:
6 But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the LORD. 7 And the LORD told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. 8 As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. 9Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”

Economic Outlook

Sean Corrigan pops up from time to time with an excellent prognosis, and I read him when I can.  He was a very reliable guide through the geneses of the dotcom and housing debacles.. and here is his current take.

One of his points is lower shipping volumes, and I note that the cross-pacific freight charge increases have been delayed.
