Professor Spiers:
Hi how are you? I hope everything's going great for you. My name is Armando
del Carpio. I am from Peru. I took an online class with you several months
ago.
I have a brother in law that has started raising shrimp in Peru. He has
invested a couple million of dollars and is very interested in distributing
it here in the USA. He wants me to be his broker and honestly I don't know
anything about the business but I would like to learn. I would like to know
if, first of all, is it worth going into this kind of business, and if it is,
how do I go about finding out about the operation here in USA.?
We still have time until the first harvest (is this the term? I need to learn
my terms) is ready. I know I need to look into finding wholesalers here that
will give me a good price for my product but I really don't know how to go
about doing so.
When you have a chance I would really appreciate if you could give some
pointers as to how to start in this business.
I thank you very much for your help and I am sorry that I am asking for kind
of "broad" info here but if you could just guide me with a few points on
how to start and where to find info, just to get me going, I am sure I will
be able to pick up from there.
Thank you again Professor Spiers.
Yours truly,
Armando del Carpio.
