but the inherently wrong patent protection regime. If there was no patent
protection regime in the USA then drugs would be as cheap, plentiful and safe as
candy, yet with far more choices.

To limit access to the industry, there is also govt regs and hoops to jump
thru. Herbert Coase demonstrated that regulators become captives of those they
regulate, so please study up on his work before telling me the drug companies
will kill all their customers if the govt was not in on the deal.

I have a drug company, a doctor, a pharmacist all watching out for me, and
insurance companies breathing down all our necks. We need an FDA, too?

In the measure we deregulate, we get more selection, better quality, better
service, superior safety, and lower prices. Drugs are a good place to start.
