Trolley Cars, Diesel vs Gasoline

I rode the charming trolley cars in San Francisco recently, and marvelled at the
restoration of
the system that took place in the mid-90's. Here they paid 21st century
technology prices for
19th century technology.

Every single reason for not integrating magnetic levitation transport is
apparent in
maintaining the trolley cars today. Gas autos must steer clear of
trolleys...trolleys don't stop
but run right into intersections... the maintentance of trolleys is actually
much harder than
mag lev.

Mongolia has skipped the wired telephone service, opting to jump straight into
al wireless.
China has working mag lev transport between Shanghai airport and Shanghai...300
MPH, 6
inches above the ground, clean quiet smooth and cheap. Wouldn't it be wonderful
if china
announced it was skipping gas autos and going straight to mag lev, the world can
keep its
oil?

sigh.
