Restore American Agriculture!

It breaks my heart to see someone who has such a wonderful grasp of the problem, and how we got here, then go on to come up with "more of the same" solutions. Yes, farming in America is a terrible thing in practice, and yes, we need to get back to what this fellow calls for. But government programs got us here, but cannot get us out. property rights would do it. Respecting property rights is necessary for improvement, and it would be sufficient.

I am a lifelong member of a food coop here in Seattle, all hard corp "back to Eden" types, but the food is very good. Did I say "but?" Well, their politics are so very left wing, I am a fish out of water among them. But to eat well I overlook political differences.

Trade Data Refutes Policymakers

A strong dollar is supposed to make exports go up, but the data shows it goes down. The trade deficit remains because imports go down too. It is not currency fluctuations that matters, but the economic health of your partners.

Also, look at the graph... if this economic trouble continues... we may be back to 2006 activity levels in 2 years. (Big deal...) Point is, int'l trade still going strong...
