Chinese Restrict Business Data Flow: Advantage Small Business

As a part of American hubris, pursuant to big business not inclined to free trade (or merely deregulation-lite) as introduced by Jimmy Carter, and further under the delusional Chicago-school economics that Reagan policies might lead to economic improvements, the USA lending credit had so powerful an ill-effect (which is why all major religions strictly forbid it) our intel agencies got behind the computer and internet companies that enabled spying.  USA Uber Alles!

Snowden detailed what almost everyone knew anyway.  Our products spy.  But that can cut both ways.

The Chinese and Russians already have all of our secrets, the only point of spying is to keep USA citizens in fear of their deep-government.  Ask Bobby Menendez.

Big business depends on big data, and with China player #2 in the world markets, to the degree the Chinese decline to be enslaved by USA mid-level policy-wonks, is the degree to which USA big business is constrained from action in China.  That degree is huge, as one would imagine.
Chinese restrictions on cross-border data flows and storage are hindering the ability of foreign companies to operate in China, the American Chamber of Commerce in China said on Tuesday.
China has introduced a series of information security policies in recent years restricting access to a wide range of data including personal health information and state secrets.
The introduction of such policies has ramped up since revelations by  former US National Security Agency intelligence contractor Edward Snowden of US government snooping.
Last year, China's official Xinhua news agency said the Snowden case showed the United States was "the biggest villain in our age" and a hypocrite for complaining about Chinese cyber-attacks.
The chamber says policies restricting data flows and storage are damaging the business climate, and impairing the ability of companies to compete in China and link back to their global business operations.
Imagine that.  The Chinese are disinclined to allow state secrets and the kind of info USA uses against its own citizens against the Chinese.  These big businesses cannot turn to Uncle Sam, for he has not sufficient pull anymore, as evidenced in the insulting language used in Chinese editorials now.

If we want to become #1 again, we need only bring the soldiers home, and return to free markets.  I know it ain't gonna happen, but who cares, for the future is advantage: small business.

What goes around comes around.
