OK... so the fix is in, the next election is not going to improve anything, it is just going to get worse for most. We did not let the correction happen in 2008, and so in 2016? 2017? a tougher problems occurs.
How to avoid getting smacked by the next crash?
1. Start a business.
2. Get married.
3. Have kids.
I was in the right place at the right time in the 1970s, and got to be in China for the opening and the changes. I could go on and on about my adventures, etc, but that is not the point. The only way I could have done it all is by being self-employed. I left 60 years old behind a while back, and if I list everything I've done and as blest as I have been, there is only one thing that matters or pleasing to me, and that is my kids, as contumacious, truculent, provoking and quibbling as they are.
You never have enough money for kids, nor do they come at the right time. The kids themselves have no idea if you are poor, unless you tell them. But somehow they come, grow and outclass us. And they are gone in a flash, this is so true. So never mind your fears, have kids and it will work out.
Of course get married before you have kids, that would be my advice, something I always wanted to do, and make sure your spouse is at least as entrepreneurial as you. In my narrow experience, women want money. Or perhaps I should say in my experience women take a lot of money. But then that's the kind I go for. Anyway, make it clear, it won't be about money, it will be about lifestyle. There are some superior women out there that get that. Marry one of those women. And to those women: I understand, men are like parking spaces - the good ones are taken and the available ones are handicapped. Just tell that lazy idiot living in his mom's basement what to do: he's going to change his diet, dress like an adult, get buff, dig ditches to cover the expenses while you build a business. And don't be afraid to slap him around if he whines about going back to mom. You are in charge until he grows up.
Get that right and you'll be living a radical alternative lifestyle in USA the next 40 years or so. You'll be exempt from the coming economic problems. You'll own your own means of production and you'll have networks not government-dependent. You'll live a life. And no matter what happens, you'll have the experience of kids, something that can never be taken away. Something far more valuable itself than all of the other experiences and accomplishments in life put together.

Thanks for imparting your wisdom John. I once heard someone say that, "childrens' children are the reward for having children". In other words, spending time with grandkids is the "icing on the cake" so to speak.
