I think that this was a clever psychological trick on her opponent.
In baseball they do this all the time when the manager, the pitcher, and the catcher call time-out to convene on the mound in order to break the momentum of a batter on a hitting streak. When I played we would often talk about anything but baseball like the cute girl in row 44, seat 5 or even what we were having for dinner after the game while everyone else had to wait until we finished our discussion.

Nonsense.... welfare self-selects people who will never start a business.... people who start businesses rarely if ever take welfare... unless you are talking about the welfare queens who can only operate businesses with government subsidies, like monsanto and Boeing. And here agian, those welfare queens never start businesses...
