Does redesigning this same product to suit a customers own personal
specification and application means one is competing on design and not
price?

***Yes... a shoe is a shoe, but there is more money in designed shoes, the
more specifically aimed the better. Nike is profitable, but they are most
profitable where they design shoes to your specifications. At the NIKE
website one is able to select shoe, style color combination and even
personalize it with a motto (NON SEQ in my case)***

Is it viable to start searching for customers overseas who want this
product manufactured to their personal details and usage? Built the same
product differently according to each individual order. Please excuse me for
being a little naive concerning this matter. >>

***Naivety or clarity? Anyway... what is most viable is to START with what
you love, then the hard part, the product will be fun work..all that
changing.***
