Amazon and MyHabit

Amazon is brilliant in its marketing using the web as an interactive mail order catalog.  On the one hand they allow competitors sell in their prime real estate, and then also drive product directly to now known buyers tapping into buying habits with their system called MyHabit.

Amazon.com is itself a first rate school of retail amrketing and distribution.  Study it.

Hey John,

Check out this article:

Does this change your opinion about Amazon, or not? Why?

But if you don't use Amazon or some other partner how is a small business without a marketing budget supposed to reach out to their potential customers. As John says, you can't promote a secret.

Rather it would be a good thing if Amazon decides to sell our product as it serves to expand that market and we'll know as a small business that we're on to something. As John says, entrepreneurs are not one trick ponies.

His argument is a hash of misinformation and misunderstanding. His examples are misleading, so I do not see an arguments against amazon. As to Amazon stealing idea and going around people, nonsense. As to any and all competing against each other on amazon.com, of course, everyone knew that since 1996 and it is what makes amazon brilliant.

I don't doubt some people would like amazon to be different than it is, but i've made money with amazon for over a decade, and I must say they are a favorite customer of mine. the never did me wrong.
You just have to understand how they work and make that work for you.
