Simon Cowell is a billionaire. Someone got hold of a song of his. So he calls the police, meaning he wants the taxpayers to pay for finding it, and as we know it is poor consumers who pay taxes.
Why not say no, it is not a crime. If Cowell wants to protect his property, let him pay for proper protection himself. If it is stolen anyway, let him hire private companies to find out what happened.
Why should I pay money so Cowell can be rich?

Why Should Poor People Pay to Protect the Rich?

Why We Need Personal Transport Deregulation
Here is a Smart Car in an Advertisement, a central planner's dream:
Here is a smart car in the real world (look closely between the two trucks...click on image for larger view).
We'd have neither with mag-lev transportation, which only a free market can provide.

Free Markets Attract the Best and Brightest
So USA graduates head to Communist China where the markets are freest. Sigh.

The Swiss Roll Over
Now that the Swiss have elected to end an 800 year tradition of freedom, the very people who told Adolf Hitler "no," have elected to live under USA laws. There is an opportunity for other locations to take the lead in banking secrecy.
These are the same Swiss that welcomed the heroic Marc Rich after he single-handedly solved the USA energy crisis in the 1970's and was prosecuted for doing so. Well all good things come to an end.
Surely there is a way to make banking truly secret, that is the bankers have no idea whatsoever who is putting money into an account, so even if bankers wanted to spill the beans they could not.
A free market needs such a bank.

Democrats to Investigate Their Victims
We must keep in mind that we have no insurance in USA. Insurance is about minimizing risk and sharing loss, which means prevention. In a free market insurance companies come up with ways to limit loss, because as they pay out less through smarter advice and overage, they make more money.
Insurance is critical to a free market, so it was hijacked by government. Now it is strictly amortizing risk. Take in 4, pay out one, keep one and one for overhead.
Since socialism cannot calculate costs, socialized industries such as "insurance" just guess high. Government dictates what insurance companies must offer. one of the high costs of health care is Big Medicine lobbies congress to require quackery be covered by insurance. You pay for things you don't want or will not use. At the same time, there are people who are using medicine they do not need. Either way, the costs go way up When more money comes in than is needed, they spend it, on private jets and trips for congressmen and insurance commissioners.
Now the democrats want to investigate these lavish lifestyles. Why not just deregulate insurance?
Do you have homeowners insurance? if so, call your agent. Say you may be losing your healthcare coverage (which may very well be true.) Ask if they have any coverage available short term, for say six months, while you search for alternatives. Tell me what the insurance company tells you.

Wine Deregulation In Hong Kong
The Brits have long controlled world trade in booze, so when they set up Hong Kong as a free port they did maintain their monopoly on booze (and outlawed gambling except for horse races, with proceeds funding charity). Therefore booze was one item which was never a deal in Hong Kong.
Now that the brits are out, Hong Kong has deregulated booze, and of coourse the result is more better cheaper faster, with many new jobs.
Here is a competition that is being held in Hong Kong, and example of the free market at work.

Wall Street Journal Economic Ignorance
Front page headline of the Wall Street Journal today: RELUCTANT SHOPPER HOLD BACK RECOVERY. What? Rules and regulations, lockdown polcies, war, torture, bailouts, cash for clunkers and destruction of industries in USA are not the problem? It's reluctant shoppers?
How about deregulate medicine, which will give everyone jobs as well as something to buy?
