Greece, History and the Future

Where the IMF and WorldBank intervenes, revolution follows.  This was the thesis of the late Jude Wanniski, a point the facts bear out.  The head of the IMF is now badmouthing Greece.

Look at a map.  Look at Greece.  Think about Greece, and its history.  Think about the last couple of centuries, and think about the next century or so.  Where is the growth going to occur, and where is the decline going to occur.  The trend has started.

An option for Greece is to repudiate its debts.  States do it all of the time.  I have in my wallet a silver certificate, proof that the US Government has done it.  People say it will be the end of Greece is they do so.  Hmmm... Iceland did it, and is well on the way to recovery.  Repudiation will be the ned of some peoples interest in Greece power politics, but not the end of the hills, the people, the goats, the sun, the bread and wine and calamari.

Greece can struggle to be at the low end in Europe, or start at the high end by being allied with the Middle East.  I dunno, I say expect people to do the smart thing... back to the future for Greece.

Feel free to forward this by email to three of your friends.
